’50 DEAD MEN WALKING’ BELFAST FILM FESTIVAL
Posted by Megan • On March 20, 2009 • No Comments

Fifty Dead Men Walking will be screened at the 9th Jameson Belfast Film Festival in Northern Ireland on April 4, 2009 at 7 PM. According to the the festival’s website, cast and crew will be in attendance at the screening. However, Rose McGowan won’t be attending. Please visit BelfastFilmFestival.org for further details.

Based on the real life story of informer Martin McGartland.

Opening on a beautiful stretch of coastland somewhere in Canada, a dishevelled looking 30-year old Martin McGartland (Jim Sturgess) walks towards his car and checks under the wheels for anything suspicious. He gets in and starts the engine. All seems well, until a gunman appears at the window and fires six bullets into him leaving him dying and covered in blood.

Fergus (Ben Kingsley), a British police officer, introduces us to Martin, who was an informant for the British Special Branch during the war in Northern Ireland. The story flashes back 11 years to Belfast 1988.

Martin is a young lad from West Belfast in the late 1980’s, recruited by the British Forces to spy on the IRA. He works his way up the ranks as a volunteer for the IRA whilst feeding information to his British handler, and saving lives in the process; until one day he is exposed, captured and tortured to within an inch of his life. He escaped dramatically by throwing himself from a tower block window and is still in hiding today.

TERMINATOR SALVATION: VIDEO GAME
Posted by Megan • On March 07, 2009 • No Comments

GamePro.com pries laser-detailed information about new Terminator models, plasma weaponry, and plot points from Terminator Salvation development VP Cos Lazouras. Here is a quote from the interview regarding Rose’s character:

“It was also a great opportunity to provide insight and backgrounds to these characters as well as explore their relationships with Connor and how this then plays out in the movie. In addition another character that really becomes a key player in the story, but does not appear in the movie is Angie Salter, an ex-high school teacher (voiced by the bloody fantastic Rose McGowan). Angie is on the verge of completely giving up any hope for humanity’s survival and is gratingly cynical throughout the game. Her character arc has a profound effect on Connor.”
